![]() ![]() ![]() Eager for its independence, the nation struggled to gain freedom from the monarchy attempting to assert control over the brave settlers who gave up everything to begin a new life in a new land. The United States, not unlike many other countries, originated from struggle. This past year, and now moving into this year, we have all been reminded of the struggle. When everything is going well, when life is good, when we are enjoying the fruits of our labor and basking in the glory of all that comes from a life of comfort and convenience, it’s very easy to become complacent and forget about the struggle. And, as a matter of fact, provides a great foundation for each of us to consider. This quote, like so many others, was expressed in the masculine, yet applies to all of us. This quote could just as easily read “The ultimate measure of a human being…” We must remember however, quotes are captured just as they were expressed, or at least as they were remembered by whoever it was that captured the quote. “Out Of The Mountain Of Despair, A Stone Of Hope.” ![]()
